SUMMARY
Three years have passed since the series' conclusion. Ryo, who is now employed by NASA as a significant contributor to a rocket project, and his lover, Anise, who was also a Borgman, finds herself reduced to flipping burgers in a restaurant. When she receives a letter of offer for a high-tech venture in Japan, she jumps at the opportunity. However, Ryo, who is indecisive, cannot make up his mind and ultimately lets her go without him. Chuck Sweager is the third Borgman, and his girlfriend, Miki, works as police personnel, just like him. When they discover a brawl between multiple cyborgs, Miki informs Chuck, who is quick to refute its possibility since Ryo, Anise, and himself are the only living cyborgs. Nevertheless, Miki manages to persuade him, and the two start digging to uncover the truth. Anise arrives in Japan to start her new job, and when they meet for dinner, they brief her about the incident. She decides to stealthily investigate the Heaven's Gate project, which they presume to be the hub of these new cyborgs. Ryo, on the other hand, is on his way to Japan to follow his girlfriend. Accompanying him is Hussan, one of two surviving Borgman Project researchers who was summoned to assist the Tokyo Police in their investigation. Once the entire group congregates in Japan, the story takes a turn for the complicated.
