At 17 years old, Hana Ichinose is reserved and unsure of herself. She struggles with shyness, self-doubt, and the difficulties that come with moving to a new town and starting at a new school. In addition, Hana is concerned about missing a year of school, and being known as a "slow start" compared to her peers.
On her first day of school, Hana's teacher reveals her date of birth, which leads to a meeting with three classmates who quickly become important figures in her life: the outgoing and friendly Tamate Momochi, the timid and petite Kanmuri Sengoku, and the popular and attractive Eiko Tokura. With newfound excitement for the possibility of forming real friendships, Hana embarks on a journey of transformation that will have a lasting impact on her future.
