Jun Sakurada's involvement with the Rozen Maidens began when he agreed to wind an unknown item by circling "yes" on a piece of paper in the original storyline. If he had chosen "no," the course of events would have been different. After his traumatic experience, Jun attempts to move on with his life by attending college and working at a bookstore. Despite his efforts, he feels like he doesn't fit in anywhere. One day, Jun discovers a book with instructions on how to create a Rozen Maiden doll. Though he starts the process, he is unable to finish the doll due to a lack of materials. The books also stop being published, leaving him with a message from an alternate version of himself in another world. Eventually, Jun finds himself drawn into the world of the Rozen Maidens with his incomplete doll by his side.
