In the initial OVA, the focus lies on a storyline from the 27th volume of the manga featuring Shampoo and Ukyo planning to explore a legendary cavern known to split up couples. Their mission is for Ranma and Akane to end their relationship, as well as for Shampoo to eliminate Mousse in the same manner. The second OVA, titled "Jaaku no Oni," released in 1995 and based on a narrative from the 29th volume of the manga, revolves around an Oni (similar to the ones in "Urusei Yatsura" who wear tiger-striped diapers) breaking free from its seal and possessing people in the neighborhood. The third OVA recounts a tale from the 31st volume, in which Ranma discovers a vengeful doll that penalizes any disrespect towards it. The doll takes over Akane and carries out multiple assaults on Ranma to teach him a lesson.
