As he roams the SEAUn, Shinya Kougami steers clear of the Sibyl System's prying eyes back in Japan. While journeying through the Tibet-Himalayan Alliance Kingdom, Kougami comes across Guillermo Garcia, the leader of a paramilitary group striving to merge local factions and establish tranquility in the nation marred by conflict. Despite his reservations about becoming part of another band of mercenaries, Kougami declines to join Garcia's cause but assents to being driven by his associate to the nearby Tibetan capital.
Sadly, Kougami's plan to remain detached from the hostilities is short-lived, as guerrillas attack a bus full of refugees, including Tenzing Wangchuck, a Japanese-Tibetan girl. In awe of Kougami's combat skills, she beseeches him to teach her the ways of battle so she can avenge her family's slayer.
As someone who understands firsthand that killing a person irreversibly changes you, Kougami is initially hesitant to entertain Wangchuck's request. Yet, when confronted with the abyss lurking within his own heart, which resonates with the girl's thirst for retribution, will he consent to train her?
