Li Fuyao lived in a time where the Sword Stream had lost much of its former glory, surviving only through the support of the Sword God Chao Qingqiu. The Swordsman Flow was now occupied with battling the Twelve Saints of Three Streams. Li Fuyao nurtured deep-seated anger towards the situation, and in order to make ends meet, she had to travel around, telling stories in a tiny village, exploring the ominous Jianshan and the terrifying Devil's Land, as well as delving into the mysteries of the Buddhist realm.
But as she pursued her personal vendetta, she discovered that there was a grand conspiracy at play that spanned the world. What was the reason for the decline of the Sword Stream six thousand years ago? Why were the Sword Gods and saints unable to achieve immortality? What caused Chao Qingqiu to be frozen in time? What significance did the Buddhist lanterns hold? Was the dragon in the Devil's Land an outsider? As Li Fuyao explored more, the answers to these mysteries gradually revealed themselves.
