Professor Hershel Layton, an esteemed archaeologist and puzzle-solver, along with his apprentice, Luke Triton, received tickets to the Crown Petone opera from a former student, Janice Quatlane. Little did they know, the opera was not ordinary but a treacherous game that required finding the Fountain of Youth, the source of eternal life. As they unravelled the mystery, they realised that it was just a segment of a greater enigma that they had to solve to stay alive. Despite facing difficult puzzles and rival contestants, Professor Layton and Luke maintained their gentlemanly conduct. They were mindful that a true gentleman never leaves a puzzle unsolved.
