Kusuko Harada is a high school student who harbors a concealed affection for the class charmer, Takeshi Mishima. Following a split with his latest girlfriend, Mishima invites Kusuko to the class excursion to Kyoto as his companion. Ecstatic at the opportunity, Kusuko is unaware that Mishima remains infatuated with his former middle school teacher, Shouko, despite the inappropriateness of their relationship and the age difference. Shouko's marriage is disintegrating, and Mishima's pal and devoted ally, Kotaro, overtly opposes their connection.
