In the plot of "Open Your Mind," life's extraterrestrial origin is revealed as six deities emerging from the cosmos. These deities transform into water, known as Sho-ho, and subsequently, appear on Earth represented by air, also called Hyakkin, and on land as Ku-nu. Each of these beings holds the power to govern a particular element of the godai ideology, which includes Earth, Water, Fire, Wind (referred to as kaze in the Hyakkin chant), Sky, and Consciousness, symbolized as "Awakening" in the movie title.
