At the start of the tale, we find ourselves aboard Pirate Zap's ship with his tired crew members, Bonnie and Max, who yearn for a way to break free from their situation. However, they find themselves lacking the funds to do so. Meanwhile, three youngsters who have been held captive on the vessel overhear the conversation. Amanda, the eldest child, has an ace up her sleeve- her father was a pro treasure hunter and she knows where a great treasure is located. She proposes a deal to Bonnie and Max- if they help the trio escape, they can claim as much treasure as they desire. The five of them barely make it off the ship and onto a small island where they encounter Luffy and his crew. Alas, they soon find themselves being pursued and Luffy and Amanda are taken captive by the formidable leader of the Bayan Pirates- who are also in pursuit of the treasure. Thus, a battle ensues, as Luffy and the rest fight to secure the treasure that Amanda's father had left behind for his children. Through this adventure, Amanda comes to appreciate her father's love for treasure hunting, a passion she previously resented due to his frequent absences.
