As an up-and-coming Japanese Death God, also known as a shinigami, Risky has been tasked with the grim duty of claiming Moe's life. However, due to a magical bond with an apprentice angel called Safety, Risky is forced to adopt Safety's form whenever a pleasant word is spoken. This complicates the situation even further, as Risky can only claim Moe's soul when they are deeply depressed - a task that is made all the more onerous by Safety's persistent efforts to uplift Moe's mood.
