Shinichi Chiaki, hailing from a prestigious family, is a gifted musician with a passion for performing alongside Europe's most exceptional musicians. He's notorious for his meticulousness, not only for himself but for others as well. Despite his longing to set off for Europe, he's hesitant to fly, which confines him to Japan. During his fourth year at the leading music institution in Japan, Shinichi unexpectedly crosses paths with Megumi Noda, also known as Nodame. At first glance, Nodame appears to be a disorganized girl with no clear direction in life. Nevertheless, Shinichi is astonished when he listens to Nodame play the piano, admiring the enchanting melodies she creates. However, he's disheartened to realize that Nodame is his next-door neighbor and, to complicate things, falls passionately in love with him.
