During the Edo period in feudal Japan, peace was established through violent means. Jubei Kibagami, a wandering ninja for hire, is the subject of this tale. Ninja clans were abundant during this era, including the Hiruko Clan, who guarded the Dragon Stone - a sacred treasure. Trapped in darkness, the Hiruko Clan was doomed to perish in obscurity. In contrast, the Kimon Clan sought to revive the power of the Toyotomi by obtaining the Dragon Stone and the secret treasure locked within. Jubei was deemed the perfect candidate for the responsibility of defending the Dragon Stone and its sole user, the Light Maiden.
