Nichijou revolves around the daily routines of a circle of childhood companions - Mio Naganohara, Yuuko Aioi, and Mai Minakami - who are later joined by the prodigy Hakase Shinonome, her mechanical guardian Nano, and their chatty feline, Sakamoto. Their days are spent with ordinary deeds such as going to school and spending time with pals, but are also peppered with bizarre occurrences such as warding off assault by a vocalized crow or observing the principal body slam a deer. The program showcases the unique ordinary lives of these six individuals and those in their vicinity.
