Pepe, a Spaniard cyclist, participates in a multi-stage Iberian cycling competition akin to the Tour de France. He serves as a support rider for a team vying for the win, assisting the team's leading cyclist to secure the overall title. Along the way, they're due to traverse Pepe's hometown in Andalusia on the very day his elder brother Angel is getting married to his ex-girlfriend Carmen - their past relationship played a part in Pepe's decision to leave the town and pursue cycling professionally. The upcoming wedding agitates Pepe, reinforcing that his career didn't pan out as envisaged. Faced with knowledge that the sponsor wants to remove him from the team, Pepe defies his assigned duty and strives for personal glory amidst the cheer of family and friends.
