In the year U.C. 0083, the aftermath of the devastating One Year War seemed to have brought peace to Earth and its colonies, until the rebellion of the Delaz Fleet, a Zeon military group loyal to the ideologies of the late tyrant Gihren Zabi. Anavel Gato, the famed "Nightmare of Solomon" and ace pilot of the Delaz Fleet, infiltrates the Federation's Torrington base in Australia and successfully steals the experimental Gundam GP02A "Physalis" armed with nuclear weaponry. A novice pilot, Kou Uraki teams up with Anaheim Electronics engineer Nina Purpleton and the crew of the Albion carrier, and assumes control of the Gundam GP01 "Zephyranthes" prototype in a bid to retrieve the stolen Gundam and prevent another destructive war.
