In flashback sequences, Mayfly discloses Cima's backstory as she recollects her life before the occurrences of Episode 13. It discloses that Cima and her unit, acting under commands, utilized G-3 nerve gas to infect a Side 5 colony, but were disowned by their own people for their heinous act. As the war culminated, Cima's commander denied her the freedom to withdraw to Axis. Because their birthplace Mahal had been modified into a weapon, Cima and her team were marooned and destitute.
