During her concert "Horie Yui wo Meguru Bouken III ~Secret Mission Tour~" in March 2012, she introduced the 3D virtual singer character, who performed her songs. Miss Monochrome soon became popular and appeared in various merchandise and the social network game "Girlfriend (Beta)." The character's backstory depicts her as enamored with monochrome and despising color. She fantasizes about converting the world to her preferred monochrome color.
