An animated spin-off featuring the character of Densha Otoko (Trainman) has been produced. The series centers around Yamada, played by Itoh Atsushi, who is a passionate otaku and fixated on Mina, a voluptuous bunny-eared anime character with carrots sticking out of her rear. Mina is a tribute to the unnamed bunny girl from GAINAX's Daicon Animation, which is also alluded to in the initial sequences of Densha Otoko.
