The Marmalade Boy TV series was preceded by a prologue that depicted Yuu's emotional turmoil when his parents announced their plan to divorce and remarry a couple who were already married. Overwhelmed by distress, he sought comfort by wandering outside and happened upon a young and enchanting lady who immediately captivated him. He couldn't resist her charm and followed her, only to realize later that she was the daughter of his parents' newly found partners.
