Akiba-chan, an anime that revolves around Akiba-chan and her four co-residents who share the same passion for television and gaming, showcases their daily activities at the Maison de Akiba complex. The production of the show was led by Buildup Entertainment, recognized for works such as Gundam: Mission to the Rise and Macross Plus. The computer animation was directed by Junya Kabe, the same person who directed Specter and D, while Poyoyon Rock, the character designer for Nurse Witch Komugi and Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohko, supervised the project.
