To introduce the characters, three OVAs were created before the series' official start. The first two OVAs were bundled with two drama CDs on DVD, whereas the third OVA was sold separately. It is currently unknown whether they will be released globally. The first OVA retells the introductory chapter where Negi discovers his teaching job and interacts with his students of class 2-A in Mahora Academy. The ending features profiles of Ayaka and the Baka Rangers (Asuna, Makie, Yue, Ku Fei, and Kaede). Asuna is the only student in the series who does not have any romantic feelings for Negi. In the second OVA, chapter two's "love potion" incident is shown, concluding with a focus on Nodoka, Konoka, the cheerleaders (Misa, Madoka, Sakura), and Kazumi. The third OVA is a dramatization of chapter 13, where Negi explores Mahora with the Narutaki twins and meets various students, including Yuna, Akira, Chao, Satsuki, Satomi, Chizuru, Natsumi, and Zazie. However, he fails to notice others like Sayo, Evangeline, Chachamaru, Chisame, Misora, and Ako. The ending features Setsuna and Mana observing from an unknown location on campus, while Haruna scolds Negi for overlooking her entirely.
