While getting ready for her second year of middle school, 13-year-old Mirai Asahina spots a strange object descending into the park. Intrigued, she brings her cherished stuffed animal Mofurun with her to investigate. Much to her amazement, she encounters a young lady named Riko flying on a broomstick with a specific mission to fulfill. Mirai is eager to learn more from her newfound friend, especially since they both carry matching necklaces. Their exchange is interrupted by Batti, a henchman who works for the dark magic user known as Dokurokushi. Batti demands that Mirai and Riko give him the "Link Stone Emerald," a precious item they possess. This situation worsens as Batti summons a Yokubaru to attack them. But Mirai, Riko, and Mofurun are not ones to surrender easily. They unite and chant the magic phrase "Cure-Up Rapapa" while clasping their necklaces, transforming themselves into the mythical Precure.
