In under 12 months from the occurrences depicted in the Macross 7 television show, Basara departs from Fire Bomber and voyages towards the planet Zola. On arrival, he encounters Elma, a fervent admirer of Fire Bomber. This planet serves as a platform for Basara to harness his Spiritia abilities yet again, this time with the purpose of thwarting a squad of hunters, including Elma's kin, Graham, from annihilating a pack of interstellar whales voyaging within the planetary network.
