Marie Nakazawa and Mikihisa Komaki have been good friends for some time, despite the age difference. During Marie's time in middle school, she develops hearing problems, but Komaki remains her constant source of support by recommending fascinating books. However, Komaki's troubles begin when he is caught by the Media Betterment Committee for suggesting a book that is suspected of breaching a minor's privacy. The LTF fears that Komaki might be subjected to torture during the inquiry and thus leaves no stone unturned to come up with a viable solution as soon as possible.
