For more than a century and a half, the Galactic Empire and Free Planets Alliance have been at war without a clear end in sight. As a young person in the Empire, Siegfried Kircheis forms a tight bond with fair-haired siblings Reinhard von Müsel and Annerose. Unfortunately, their father, a low-ranking nobleman, drunkenly sells Annerose as a concubine to the Kaiser, causing tension and eventual abandonment of Kircheis by the siblings. After some time, Reinhard reemerges in military garb with a determination to rise through the ranks and free Annerose from her captors. Kircheis eagerly follows Reinhard into a valiant rescue mission, unable to resist the prospect of reuniting with his dear friends once and for all.
