The An Lushan Rebellion of the Tang Dynasty brought about a period of great suffering for the people, as monsters ravaged the Central Plains. Li Haobai, who had set out from Bashu with the intention of making a brave move at the frontline, was unfortunately consumed by one of these monsters during his journey. However, through what can only be described as a stroke of luck, Li Haobai merged with the guardian of the dragon's veins and obtained the immense power of the black dragon. This led to his involvement in the conflicts between various groups.
