There was once a monk named Myoue who possessed a unique gift - the power to bring his artwork to life. Myoue and his wife, Koto, a humanoid black rabbit, peacefully raised their three children, Yakushimaru, Kurama, and Yase. Unfortunately, the community leader accused Myoue's creations of causing chaos amongst the people and demanded a solution. In response, Myoue constructed an entire world known as the Looking Glass City, where the family escaped to. For a while, tranquility reigned in this alternate realm; however, things changed when Myoue and Koto mysteriously disappeared, leaving their children to govern the city. Yakushimaru inherited his father's position and title, but things took a turn for the worse when a girl suddenly descended from the skies - her name was also Koto, and she was on a quest to locate the missing couple. With her animated companions and a massive hammer in tow, many believed that Koto held the key to freeing Myoue and Koto from their parchment entrapment, granting them a well-deserved exit from their paper world.
