The manga by Inoue Noriyoshi, which was also adapted into a Super Famicom game, serves as the basis for this storyline. The protagonist, Natsume Kiroemon, was the 45th head of the Natsume family. He inherited the Kiryuu no Mimi, a powerful tool that granted its wielder easy access to riches and women. Upon the death of his father, Natsume left the Italian monastery where he'd been undergoing training and reclaimed the name "Natsume Kiroemon" along with the power of the Kiryuu no Mimi. Upon his return to Japan, he fell deeply in love with Kanako, a member of the rival Mina family. However, the Mina family constantly threatened Natsume's life and eventually abducted Kanako. As a result, Natsume unleashed the Kiryuu's full power and waged war against the Mina family.
