Starting a new school year brings many opportunities, including joining a club. Yui Hirasawa is unsure which club to join until she happens upon the Light Music Club. Unfortunately, she misunderstands the purpose of the club, believing it only involves playing instruments like castanets. Realizing her mistake and her inability to play any instrument, Yui decides to quit the club before even starting. The Light Music Club is in danger of disbanding due to a lack of members, prompting the existing members to do whatever it takes to persuade Yui to join, including offering food and slacking off during club time. Despite their efforts, Yui remains firm in her decision to quit due to her lack of musical experience. In a last-ditch effort, the club performs a piece, which ignites Yui's passion for music and convinces her to join. Thus begins a chaotic period of practice and fun for the Light Music Club, as they make the most of their time together.
