While en route to a hot spring, Kindaichi and his companions lose their way and stumble upon an eerie hotel in disrepair. The hotel's history comes into play when they learn about a vampire that supposedly resided within its walls long ago. This is strengthened by the discovery of a person who was found lifeless with bite marks on their neck. Six years prior, a young girl's life was extinguished in the hotel's cellar under similar circumstances, leading the locals to eliminate her. When yet another guest falls victim to the same fate and Miyuki becomes a target of a fanged creature, it appears that the vampire may still dwell within the hotel's shadow.
