After six months had gone by, Ikoma and Mumei arrived at the Iron Fortress and stepped into Unato, another plagued region that had fallen into the control of the lethal Kabane. Within this conflict-torn land, the team faced off against even deadlier Kabane assaults utilizing unfamiliar techniques. Eventually, the Iron Fortress crew linked up with a group fighting for survival that sought their help in winning back the zone. The newly-formed coalition delved deeper into the castle area to probe the peculiar outbreak of these new Kabane. But their investigation revealed grim realities that exceeded their wildest fears. They were compelled to confront the sobering truth about the Kabane, and Ikoma, Mumei, and their allies eventually came to realize the desperation consuming Unato.
