Mii and Yuko, two junior high school students, discover a monument honoring Dr. Marcel Junod during a school trip to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. Their curiosity about his achievements leads them into a strange light that sends them back over 70 years to 1935 Europe. The girls find themselves following Dr. Junod's journey as a young physician with the ICRC in Ethiopia. Along the way, they witness the horrors he endures, including attacks on Red Cross workers and the use of poison gas. Nonetheless, Dr. Junod persists in his mission to help the afflicted, while showcasing his inimitable spirit. With their journey, Mii and Yuko continue following Dr. Junod to Spain and the battlefields of World War II, where they witness him improve the care of prisoners of war, establish communication routes for families, and secure supply relief deliveries. Dr. Junod's humanitarian efforts in helping others spark inspiration in Mii and Yuko, encouraging them to reflect on their own life and problems.
