The protagonist of the story is Hiromi Nozawa, a sixth-grader who faces difficulties due to her parents' frequent absences because of work commitments. Her dog, Junkers, becomes her confidant, and she relies on him to share her concerns and fears. But, Hiromi's worries escalate after learning that her parents intend to separate. Junkers surprises her by demonstrating his ability to perform three miracles that could potentially alter her circumstances. Nonetheless, Hiromi realizes that her choices must be well-considered, as the outcomes of her desires could inflict harm on people close to her.
