During their time in high school, students accumulate a variety of memories, both happy and sad. Whether it's making friends or studying hard for exams, each person has moments that stick with them. Unfortunately, one group of students has been faced with a tragedy - the passing of a fellow student. The student in question, Tomie Kawakami, was no ordinary person. She was well-known and made an impression everywhere she went. Her death was particularly shocking since her body had been mutilated and scattered. As the class tries to come to terms with their loss, they are startled by the appearance of a familiar face - someone who looks just like Tomie, but is apologizing for being late. The girl before them has long, dark hair and a striking birthmark beneath her left eye - the exact same features as their deceased classmate. Could it be that Tomie has somehow come back from the dead?
