After being born from a magic stone, Sun Wukong found himself imprisoned beneath a mountain for five hundred years as punishment for his mischievous behavior in the heavens. One day, the deity Guanyin informed Wukong that he would be freed by the monk Tangsen, and that he would accompany him on a pilgrimage from China to India. Soon afterwards, Xuanzang released Wukong from his captivity, and the pair set out on their journey. Along the way, they encountered two new allies: Zhu Bajie and the Hermit Sha Wujing. Together, they confronted perilous obstacles, dangerous creatures, and malevolent sorcerers, all while learning to work together and trust each other.
