Tsuneo Suzukawa, a university student, aspires to study abroad, but his true passions lie in diving and marine biology. Despite working multiple jobs to save up, his plans take an unexpected turn when he meets Kumiko, who prefers to be called Josee, a young girl bound to a wheelchair. Initially hesitant, Tsuneo agrees to be Josee's caretaker at the request of her grandmother, despite her prickly demeanor. As he supports her and her desire to explore the world outside of her confinement, Tsuneo also learns of their shared ambition. Empathizing with Josee's aspirations, Tsuneo decides to journey with her towards self-discovery. As they forge a path towards achieving their personal goals, they discover the commonalities that unite them.
