Hana Nono enters a new school and resolves to abandon her juvenile tendencies and act more mature. Despite a less than promising start, Hana soon befriends Homare Kagayaki, a poised and interesting girl, and Saaya Yakushiji, a gentle and diligent representative for their class. One fateful evening, a magical infant named Hug-tan lands on Hana's balcony from the sky. Hana is immediately taken with the adorable creature and soon discovers a talkative hamster, Hariham Harry. After Harry explains that Hana is not "the one," she realizes she shares a special connection with Hug-tan. The next day, a monster arrives in town, feeding on people's energy and causing them to collapse. Hana witnesses Hug-tan and Harry under attack and risks her safety to protect them. Her bravery triggers both Hana and Hug-tan to emit an energy glow that forms a heart-shaped gem. Using the gem's power, Hana transforms into a hero named Cure Yell, effortlessly defeating the monster. Harry reveals that he and Hug-tan are from the future, where time is frozen by the Criasu Corporation, the same organization responsible for the monster. The only way to restore the future is for Hana and her team, dubbed Precure, to wield the Future Crystals, which manifest their aspirations and ideals. Together, they must overthrow the Criasu Corporation and safeguard a bright future for all.
