Captain Herlock is caught up in the intergalactic events when the Ring of Niebelung is created by his comrade's son by accident. The evil forces lead by an exiled lunatic gather their armies to start a war with the last dominant authorities in the universe. To safeguard the Paradise and thwart their plans, Herlock has to confront the assembled fleets and reclaim the ring.
