After defeating Shiratorizawa Academy, the volleyball team of Karasuno High School clinched their ticket to nationals. As they gear up for the grand tournament, Tobio Kageyama, the smart setter, bags an invitation to the All-Japan Youth Training Camp. Similarly, first-year player Kei Tsukishima receives an opportunity to join a specialized training camp in Miyagi Prefecture. However, Shouyou Hinata is left disappointed after being excluded from any such training camp. But, Hinata doesn't let this setback get to him. He transforms his frustration into motivation and decides to accompany Tsukishima to the rookie training camp as a ball boy. This decision helps him to critically analyze the game and his own abilities as a player.
