To combat this threat, the most talented and brilliant youngsters from every corner of the world are brought together to operate enormous combat-ready robots. Despite not possessing exceptional piloting skills, Noriko Takaya - the daughter of a respected but deceased space captain - decides to enlist in the academy. It is here that she meets her complete opposite, the striking and gifted Kazumi Amano.
