Van, a tall and unenthusiastic swordsman, travels with a purpose- to avenge his fiancé's murder. The only clue he has is that the perpetrator has a claw for an arm, earning him the moniker, The Claw Man. While on his quest, Van stumbles upon the city of Evergreen, which is fighting off bandits attempting to rob the city's treasury. Here, he meets Wendy Garret, a shy girl searching for her abducted brother. The city implores Van to help fight off the thieves, but he dismisses the request and leaves them to their fate. However, the bandits provoke Van to the point where he takes matters into his own hands to settle an old score. Unbeknownst to him, the bandits have ties with The Claw Man and have kidnapped Wendy's brother, whose reason is undisclosed. After easily dispatching the bandits, Van continues his journey, reluctantly accompanied by Wendy. Their destination: to find The Claw Man. But little do they realize, the villain's heinous dealings far exceed what they could have ever imagined.
