Japan was hit by the Apocalypse Virus on December 24, 2029, causing widespread death and chaos in what is now referred to as the "Lost Christmas." In response, the United Nations dispatches the GHQ to restore order by containing the outbreak and eradicating political autonomy. Despite a decade passing, the GHQ still maintains a draconian rule over the country, leaving citizens helpless and frustrated. The Funeral Parlor, a rebel group striving for liberation from the GHQ, sets its sights on acquiring the "Void Genome" to further their cause. In a twist of fate, the vial ends up in the possession of internet singer Inori Yuzuriha, who becomes a target of the GHQ's Anti-Bodies. Seeking sanctuary, she crosses paths with Shuu Ouma, a socially awkward high school student and her fan, in a warehouse. Upon rescuing Inori, Shuu accidentally shatters the Void Genome, granting him the "Power of the Kings." As he learns to control his newfound ability, Shuu joins the fight to free Japan from the grips of its oppressors.
