Doppo Orochi eagerly awaits the final round of his martial arts academy's youth tournament, ready to witness his student Atsushi Suedou take on the formidable Baki Hanma. Despite breezing through previous matches with ease, Baki's physical abilities have aroused Doppo's curiosity. Together with his fellow disciple Kiyosumi Katou, Doppo ventures to the highly secretive Tokugawa underground fighting arena, where weapons are strictly prohibited. They soon discover that Baki will be facing the deadly karate champion Koushou Shinogi, whose Cord-Cutting technique is renowned for its lethality.
