In a desperate attempt to escape the Zai, an elusive organization that terrorizes their homeland in China, Kei Narutani and his childhood friend, Song Minghua, flee to Japan. They stumble upon a striking red aircraft commanded by Gripen, an Anima - a rare airborne woman - with a captivating JAS-39F fighter jet. As Kei becomes increasingly intrigued by the aircraft and its pilot, he forms a strong bond with Gripen and decides to join the Japan Self-Defense Force to support her in overcoming her flying challenges. Together with the carefree F-15J-ANM, Eagle, and the conceited RF-4EJ-ANM, Phantom, they form an unbeatable squadron and fight against the Zai, the last obstacle standing between humankind and the encroaching alien race.
