Since the Edo era, the small Inari temple has been under the protection of Gintarou, a fox spirit. Although Saeki Makoto's family is blessed with the power to perceive the gods' representative, it can only be possessed by one living relative at a time. As the last surviving family member, Makoto received the ability after her mother's untimely demise. Despite their contrasting traits, Makoto and Gintarou collaborate to aid their community with the fox spirit's capabilities.
