The Genshiken, or Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture, is now led by a more self-assured Sasahara. During the break between semesters, the club gained an unexpected member who despises otaku culture: Ogiue. Despite this, Sasahara manages to achieve his dream of creating a doujin circle and selling fan-made magazines at the upcoming Comic Festival. However, the harsh realities of the industry quickly become apparent. Meanwhile, Tanaka and Ohno's romance becomes the hot topic of discussion within the club, as they take a tentative step forward.
