The Virtual Trilogy offers its second installment in a blend of anime and live action footage. Virtual Station functions to collect and research DNA to virtually reconstruct the ancient world using old DNA components. Yui is one of the Gene Divers tasked with journeying into this virtual ancient world to obtain DNA from extinct animals. However, an unexpected event occurs. During a maintenance cycle, Yui seeks to exit the virtual world, but instead of being transported back to reality, she finds herself in a new virtual present. This current world, now uncontrollable by the system, has fostered the evolution of an intelligent species known as puglaistig from rodents. Seeing humanity as a significant threat, they resort to any means necessary to prevent human progression.
