Despite futsal gaining worldwide recognition over the past decade, Haru Yamato had remained disinterested in the sport until he witnessed Japanese player Tokinari Tennoji compete in the U-18 World Cup. However, upon beginning high school at Koyo Gakuen, Haru eagerly joined the futsal club.
Within the club, Haru encountered a talented group of players, including the captain Toi Tsukioka, who had previously played with Tennoji in the U-18 team. Despite the team's collective strength, the task of assembling a group capable of competing with major opponents was daunting, particularly for Haru, a newcomer to the sport.
