SUMMARY
As is the case in most cultures, Japanese children grow up being regaled with fables by their elders - a tradition that has been in place for generations. The narratives, including those of the peach-born boy, the bamboo-unearthed moon princess, and the aged man with the ability to bring back a lifeless cherry tree, impart both positive and negative life lessons. On offer are three self-contained stories that last for approximately thirty minutes each, all sourced from the Tohoku region - a collection of both widely known and less familiar folktales that provide a heartwarming experience. Given the grave impact of the 2011 earthquake on the region, the hope is that this production will offer comfort and solace to those affected by the calamity.
